Special Priority Mail (SPM) Prohibitions

Shipments may not contain the following:

• dangerous goods for air transport:
  • explosives (guns, ammunition, capsule toys, fireworks, flares)
  • compressed, flammable, liquefied or toxic gases (all aerosols, gas cylinders, oxygen, LPG, butane, propane, smoke generators, lighters)
  • flammable liquids (gasoline, paints and glues containing flammable liquids, paint thinners, turpentine, alcohol, acetone, nail polishes, hair sprays, correctors -blanco, perfumes, colognes)
  • flammable solids, self-igniting and dangerous when wet (matches, phosphorus, lithium)
  • ox poisons and toxic substances (insecticides, poisons, herbicides, rodenticides)
  • infectious substances (blood, urine, tissues)
  • radioactive substances (medical isotopes, some fire detectors)
  • corrosive substances (acids, liquid car batteries, thermometers)
  • miscellaneous (inks, dry ice, lithium batteries, magnets, car airbags, carbon dioxide, asbestos)
• infectious substances and biological material (blood, urine, tissues, etc.)
• narcotic substances & psychotropic drugs cannabis, medicinal and non-medicinal,
• cannabis products and its by-products
• non-prescription drugs
• food (perishable) – shipping is always the sender's responsibility
• live or dead animals and plants, seeds, soil and compost
• corpses & human remains
• pirated and counterfeit products
• works of art
• antiquities, hagiographies, rare books and publications with historical value
• antiques and copies of ancient works of art without an export license from the competent authorities
• precious metals, gems and jewellery
• monetary values, guaranteed securities, passports
• coins, banknotes, collectibles and other valuable items
• alcoholic beverages
• cigarettes, electronic cigarette, cigars, tobacco and derived products of Excise Duties.
• material that may be considered pornographic, offensive or inappropriate
• political material
• suitcases if they are locked
• watch worth more than €150
• items whose handling and transport is not accepted by IATA

Negotiable items for transport:

1. Items that can only be redeemed by the beneficiary

• credit cards DISABLED
• cash withdrawal cards WITHOUT RIN
• NOMINAL and TWO-LINE checks
• REGISTERED shares & certificates of ownership
• freight bills of lading
• bonds and promissory notes NOMINAL
• bank documents redeemable only by the final recipient

2. Items redeemable by any third party

• credit cards ACTIVE
• phone cards & phone SIM cards
• cash withdrawal cards with PIN
• air tickets open date & name
• blank or transferable cheques
• gift vouchers
• shares transferable
• bonds & notes transferable
• bank documents transferable
• traveler's checks redeemable
• stamps, stamps, coupon reponse
• wear tapes

3. DEACTIVATED calling cards are NOT TRANSFERRED

Important Note:

1. All shipments are inspected.
2. Shipments destined for military / naval bases are not accepted.
3. Shipments destined for PO Box are not accepted.
4. In case of shipment to the USA with drug or food content, please contact Customer Service as special restrictions apply.
