Express Mail Service (EMS) Prohibitions

Shipments are prohibited from containing the following:

dangerous goods for air transport:
- explosives (guns, ammunition, capsule toys, fireworks, flares)
- compressed, flammable, liquefied or toxic gases (all aerosols, gas cylinders, oxygen, LPG, butane, propane, smoke generators, lighters)
- flammable liquids (gasoline, paints and glues containing flammable liquids, paint thinners, turpentine, alcohol, acetone, nail polishes, hair sprays, correctors -blanco, perfumes, colognes)
- flammable solids, self-igniting and dangerous when wet (matches, phosphorus, lithium)
- ox poisons and toxic substances (insecticides, poisons, herbicides, rodenticides)
- infectious substances (blood, urine, tissues)
- radioactive substances (medical isotopes, some fire detectors)
- corrosive substances (acids, liquid car batteries, thermometers)
- miscellaneous (inks, dry ice, lithium batteries, magnets, car airbags, carbon dioxide, asbestos)
pirated and counterfeit products
cigarettes, electronic cigarette, cigars, tobacco and derived products of Excise Duties.
antiques and copies of ancient works of art without an export license from the competent authorities
works of art without appropriate packaging and with permission from the competent authority (from Museum / Gallery / Byzantine Antiquities Service)
pornographic material (print or electronic)
active credit cards
monetary values
coins, banknotes, collectibles and other valuable items
passports
perishable food
animals (living or dead) and plants, seeds, soil and compost
dead bodies & human remains
gold, platinum and precious stones in any form
infectious substances and biological material (blood, urine, tissues, etc.)
narcotic substances & psychotropic drugs
cannabis, medicinal and non-medicinal, cannabis products and its by-products
medicines, when not accompanied by a medical prescription in English, which must state in detail the quantity, the name of the medicines and the use for which they are intended
watch worth more than €150
objects that by their nature or because of their packaging there is a risk of self-destruction or damage to other objects
items subject to an export duty, without an export permit from the Customs Service
items that are prohibited from being imported and served by the country of destination according to the LIST OF PROHIBITED ITEMS ELTA
items whose handling and transport is not accepted by IATA

FOR COUNTRIES OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN UNION, GOODS OUTSIDE THE CUSTOMS DECLARATION MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN INVOICE TO FACILITATE THEIR CUSTOMS CLEARANCE.

The "Declared Value" Service is offered only to customers under contract and after a relevant written agreement.

Wooden box packaging to the USA they are only accepted if synthetic wood has been used, such as MDF and marine plywood. NATURAL WOOD PACKAGING IS NOT ACCEPTED.
